About UX@UM

  • UX@UM is a two-day conference run by graduate students, connecting innovators with industry experts. All are welcome to attend!

  • Our mission began by discussing ideas, research questions, methodologies, and evaluation tools to pinpoint how UX research can transform design principles and revolutionize human usage and perception of technology. We aim to highlight philosophies, principles, and practices shared by UX and LXD.

Keynote Speakers

Dr. Mark W. Newman

Mark is a Professor in the School of Information and the Department of EECS at the University of Michigan and a founder of Michigan Interactive and Social Computing (MISC). His research interests are in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction and Ubiquitous Computing, with a focus on support for interaction design and end-user configuration.

Dr. Rebecca Quintana

Rebecca is the Associate Director of Learning Experience Design at the Center for Academic Innovation, University of Michigan (U-M). She is also an Adjunct Lecturer at U-M's School of Education. She uses a learner-centered approach to design and develop learning experiences for diverse audiences of global learners. Her research centers on community-oriented approaches to the design and development of online learning environments. .
